Sorry it has been a while since I have posted on Life of Dug. Once I returned from Reno I had a lot of planning to do. As I had mentioned Bill Clinton was coming to visit. He had heard how we had created a 100% self-sustaining village with a zero carbon footprint, in Botswana Africa and he wanted to see how we did it.
There is a lot of preparation that goes into a visit like this. Even though President Clinton has not been the President for several years he still requires a security detail and all the paper work that goes along with that. We had to show we had a secure location in case the village came under attack. You should see how we described the compost toilet, we made it sound like Fort Knox and said they could hide the President there if he was in harms way.
The visit was great we kept the President away from all of the women in the village (Monica warned us), but other then that he got to see life as usual. He had a lot of interaction with the children and seemed to be genuinely concerned about there health, education, and well being.
He was very interested in the wind generator/ water pump we developed and also the way we compost our human and garbage waste for fertilizer.
I am sure he was impressed with our village, I doubt anything will come of the visit, in fact I hope nothing comes of it. We have done a nice job of isolating ourselves from the influences of the outside world and hope to keep it that way.
As far as poker goes I will do a semi-annual update in the next few weeks. As far as travel goes I am headed to Greenland and Iceland in July for a few weeks, more on that in a future posts.
Sorry for the delay updating everybody.
Cheers,
DUG
