This has been a busy two weeks. First let me explain the picture. I was at a restaurant the other day and I gave the waitress a fairly nice tip or at least I thought I did. She walked away must have looked at the tip turned around, and the picture shows what she did to me. What happened is I read the bill wrong and only tipped 10% instead of 20%. Well I enjoyed the pinch more then the waitress expected me to, so I ended up tipping her 30%.
It looks like I will be staying in the US a little longer then I expected. It has now been two weeks. The plan was to head back to Botswana this weekend. As usual things have changed. The Philadelphia Marathon is in a week, as I had mentioned I was planning on running, but then it sold out. It ends up I was able to get a bib (entry) and so I am back to running in it. It does not make sense to fly all the way home and fly back a week later, so I am staying, then yesterday I got an email from Margarite inviting me to spend Thanksgiving in South Beach, Florida. How a women that lives in Botswana and is from Holland, knows about Thanksgiving or South Beach I will never know, but there was no way I was going to say no to that invite. So that keeps me in the US until December 1st.
I also got an invite from Larry to join him in Tucson, Arizona in January. Larry is one of the guys I went hiking with in the Grand Teton Mountains. His step mom lives at a spa, hiking, high end resort and he asked me to join him for some luxury hiking. I am sure the guides will be better then Brad Armstrong. So now I have to decide if I fly home in December or just stay in the US, or maybe just travel to somewhere else for the month of December.
Poker
Over the last two weeks with all my travel I did not play a lot of poker. If you remember prior to these two weeks I had had two very bad weeks, close to my worst weeks for the year. The good news is over the last two weeks I have recovered nicely.
My statistics for the last two weeks are as follows in weekly order:
Winnings $141.60 with an hourly win rate of $32.00 an hour, I only played 4.42. After the two bad weeks I was focused on quality play and only played 70 hands an hour, but won $.46 a hand.
This week I won $194.30 with an hourly win rate of $15.46 an hour. I played 12.57 hours, so you can see my quality went down some only winning $.19 per hand.
I thought I would start something new and post my biggest pot for the week on both the winning side and losing side.
The below hand is my biggest winning hand and I won $127.20, as you look at this hand you will think I am a nut, but read at the bottom why I won.

Seat 8: Wenb0 (small blind) folded before Flop
Seat 9: DUG (big blind) showed [Ts 6c] and won ($254.40) with a pair of Sixes
The secret, I had a note on this guy, that said, “He will chase hands, and go all in when he misses and bet half the pot when he hits” So I knew the all in bet meant he missed. The best part was this was my first hand so everybody at the table thought I was a nut and I got a lot of action going forward.
This hand was ugly.

Table 'Genua V' 9-max Seat #4 is the button
Seat 1: twineaks ($132.80 in chips)
Seat 2: BigOwen ($300.10 in chips)
Seat 3: DUG ($248.60 in chips)
Seat 4: AFV75 ($182.70 in chips)
Seat 5: MaxVariance ($38 in chips)
Seat 6: kaploa ($47 in chips)

Seat 8: Sodom ($47.50 in chips)
Seat 9: ESTPatrick ($413.10 in chips)
MaxVariance: posts small blind $1
kaploa: posts big blind $2
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to DUG [5c 6h]
pigface222: folds
Sodom: folds
ESTPatrick: folds
twineaks: folds
BigOwen: raises $5 to $7
DUG: calls $7 So why call here. Big Owen had been stealing a lot from me, I knew I had good implied odds if I hit I could get all his money.
AFV75: folds
MaxVariance: folds
kaploa: folds
*** FLOP *** [6s 4h Ad] This is a little scary I only have middle pair with a bad kicker, but I doubt he has an Ace I think he is just making a continuation bet, again trying to steal.
BigOwen: bets $11
DUG: calls $11 worth one more call.
*** TURN *** [6s 4h Ad] [5d] Great two pair.
BigOwen: checks I know he missed.
DUG: bets $12 Now if he has a flush draw of str8 draw I might be giving him the right odds to call. But I will know if he hits and not lose anymore money.
BigOwen: raises $270.10 to $282.10 and is all-in He could have 2 pair, but I doubt it, he would have raised but not this much, he wants me to fold, so I think I have him beat.
DUG: calls $218.60 and is all-in I call.
Uncalled bet ($51.50) returned to BigOwen
*** RIVER *** [6s 4h Ad 5d] [9d] Third Diamond not good.
*** SHOW DOWN ***
BigOwen: shows [Kd 3d] (a flush, Ace high) He had a flush draw and open ended str8 draw. So any diamond except the 6 of diamonds (8 cards) and any 2 or 7 (8 cards) so 16 cards would give him the win. That is about 32% to win. I was about 68% to win. So my call was correct and I lost $248.60.
DUG: mucks hand
BigOwen collected $497.20 from pot
*** SUMMARY ***Total pot $500.20 Rake $3 Board [6s 4h Ad 5d 9d]
Seat 1: twineaks folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 2: BigOwen showed [Kd 3d] and won ($497.20) with a flush, Ace high
